Looking After Your Beautiful Face
Our face is the part of our body that is seen more often than any other part of our body. So this also means that it is out for the elements all of the time too. So many things affect our skin and often has a detrimental effect on it. But looking after your beautiful face is easy if you know-how. The environment can have an effect on our skin, with the changing weather. Or the pollution in the area that we live in or work. But also the things we put in our body can affect our skin. Smoking causes premature ageing and it will face you look older than friends of the same age. Even food and drink can have a negative impact on your skin.

Cleansing your beautiful face
There was a time when you had to do a whole routine of cleansing and toning your face. These days it has got easier, you can throw loads of products away. Now you can cleanse your face with a simple one-step product like micellar water or a good cleansing wipe. You need to make sure that you choose the right product for your skin, for it to be beneficial.
- Normal Skin – use a product for normal skin, you are lucky to have this type of skin.
- Sensitive Skin – use a product that is hypo-allergenic, so it doesnt harm your skin.
- Dry Skin – use a product that is moisturising and contains oils.
- Oily Skin – use a product that is oil free like peppermint or tea tree.
- Combination Skin – use a produt with salicylic acid that will help your combination skin.
Exfoliating Your Face
This is how you get rid of dead skin on your face, leaving it smoother and evened out. Using an exfoliator is like a breath of fresh air for your skin as it leaves it feeling fresher and looking brighter, lighter. An exfoliator for your face is a cleansing wash with some natural rough particles that will even out your skin.
You only need to moisturise once a week, any more and it will dry your facial skin out. Try not to exfoliate for too long or be rough with it because it can cause a bit of discomfort. You do not need a pricey exfoliator, a cheap one works just as well. You can also make one from home using natural products like sugar.
Make Sure You Moisturise
Throughout the day, your skin loses so much moisture, so you need to replace it with a daily moisturiser. There are so many different kinds on the market but you need to get one to suit your skin. When you go to a shop to buy a moisturiser, it is like a minefield. There are so many to choose from! First, think about what you want your moisturiser to do. Do you want an anti-wrinkle moisturiser or a brightening moisturiser? Do you want a tinted moisturiser or do you want a colour free one?
There are also day and night moisturisers. A day moisturiser is lighter and can contain an SPF. But a night moisturiser is thicker and richer, that works whilst you sleep. Again, for it to be beneficial you need to your skin.
- Normal Skin – You only need a light moisturiser, using one that it too thick will clog your pores.
- Sensitive Skin – A fragrance free, hypo allergenic moisturiser is the one for you. It might be trial and error to start with, but you will find the right one.
- Dry Skin – You will need a thick, oil based moisturiser to help put the moisture back into your skin.
- Oily Skin – Choose an oil free or water based product on your skin.
- Combination Skin – Use a lightweight and oil free moisturiser to help balance your skin.
Following this advice will help you to keep your skin in tip-top condition. But if you are still not sure what to buy, you can always ask sales assistants in the store and they will help you.
